Weather Advisory – Upcoming Storm System

Posted Date: 12/22/25 (11:07 AM)

Dear Soledad Unified School District Families,

We want to make you aware that weather agencies, including Cal OES and the National Weather Service, are forecasting a series of storm systems expected to impact much of California beginning Tuesday, December 23 through Thursday, December 25.

These storms may bring:

  • Periods of heavy rainfall
  • Strong winds
  • Potential for localized flooding, downed trees, and power outages
While schools are currently closed for Winter Break, we are actively monitoring conditions and will inspect school facilities as needed. At this time, there are no reported impacts to district schools.

We encourage families to:
  • Stay informed through local weather updates
  • Use caution when traveling during periods of heavy rain or high winds
  • Avoid flooded roadways and areas prone to debris flow
If weather conditions change or impact school operations, we will communicate directly with families through ParentSquare.

We have included the River Forecast Center report that monitors river levels so you can see if a river near you is at risk of flooding.  Also, included in the report is a debris flow risk table for burn scars through out the state.

Thank you for your continued partnership, and please stay safe.

Sincerely,
Soledad Unified School District
