Staff Housing Project – Construction Progress Update

Posted Date: 11/02/25 (12:07 PM)

Construction continues to move forward on the Soledad Unified School District’s Staff Housing Project at 183 Soledad Street. The project is funded by Measure N, which was approved by Soledad USD voters. Over the past few weeks, crews have been completing site grading, backfilling the retaining wall, and preparing for the next major phase of vertical construction. The installation of the second-level framing and roof structures is scheduled to begin this month and will continue through December.

Inside the buildings, work on the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems will take place from mid-November through early December as well. The design and construction team—Ausonio Inc., 19six Architects, and Education Housing Partners, and the District—continues to meet weekly to coordinate progress, review building materials, and finalize finish selections for the new homes.

On November 12, the District will host a “Box Walk,” where district staff  and project partners to will tour the first completed one- and two-bedroom framed units. This milestone represents an  step forward as we continue transforming this long-awaited project from concept to reality.

The District appreciates the ongoing support of our community, city partners, and staff as we work together to bring quality, affordable housing options to Soledad educators and staff.

We have included some pictures showing the progress on the project.
